Abell Notes on will: George W. Morgan b.ca 1813 d. 8 Jul 1884, bur. Old St Joseph's Cem was the son of Raphael Morgan d.1833, and Mary ??. He married Ann Maria Fish in 1851. One daughter, Sarah Blanch Morgan. Excerpt from Letters of Lafayette Buckler, Chronicles, Vol 30 No 5, to his wife Victoria McGinley Buckler: "Laurel Grove, August 25, 1869. Mrs (sic) Blanche Morgan is dead. She died yesterday & was buried today. I was at her funeral & it was enough to melt the heart of a stone (if it had any) to see & hear her Father lament over her. It was a very large procession. She appeared to be a universal favorite, hope she is better off. She suffered a great deal before she died. It will almost kill her father, the last tie on Earth (as it were) is severed. He is left alone & he loved her so much. Oh I know how it is with him, his life will be desolate. I feel for him a sympathy & hope God will take care & protect him & fit him for Eternity, there to meet his beloved ones in Heaven. I see Heaven is the place to strive for after all. This life is so short & Eternity is so long." ============================================================== File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by J. P. Morgan glasiii@aol.com.
