Cecilius be To all persons to whom these presents shall (illegible) in our Lord God, everlasting Know ye that (illegible) for and in consideration that John Newman of this Province hath due unto him one hundred and fifty acres of Land within this Province by assignment from Robert Burke part of a warrant for three hundred and fifty acres and fifty acres more by assignment from Henry Hawkins the assignee of Ralph Hawkins out of a warrant for six hundred and fifty acres, as apps upon record and upon such Conditions and terms as are expressed in our Conditions of plantation of our province of Maryland under our greater Seal at arms bearing date at Sundon, the second day of July in the year of our Lord God one thousand Six hundred forty nine with such alteration as in them is amde by our Declaration bearing date the two and twentyeth day of September Anna one thousand Six hundred fifty eight and remaining on record in our province of Maryland do hereby grant unto him the said John Newman a parcel of land called Newman's Lott lying in Talbot County at the head of Wye River in the woods beginning at a marked red oke being the first bound tree of the Land laid out for Richard Jones and Peter Sides, called Planters Delight and running for bredth from the said oke South one hundred perches to another marked red oke bounded on the South by a line drawn east from the said oke for length three hundred and seven perches on the east by a line drawn North from the end of the East line one hundred perches on the North by a line drawn West from the end of the North line three hundred and twenty perches by the line of the said Jones and Sides to the first marked oke on the West by the first South line contayning and laid out for two hundred acres more or less together with all rights profitts and benefits thereunto belonging (illegible excepted). To have and to hold the Same unto him the said John Newman his heirs and assignees forever to beholden of us and our heirs as of our Mannor of Baltimore in free and common (Soccage) by fealty only for all manner of Services yielding and paying therefore yearly unto us or our heirs at our receipt at St. Maries at the two most usual feasts in the year half at the feast of the Annunciation of our Blessed Virgin Mary and at the feast of St. Michaell The Archangel by (illegible) equall portions the rent of four shillings (illegible) in siver or gold and for a fine on every (illegible) of the Said Land or any part or pacel thereof one whole years rent in silver or gold or the full value thereof in such commodities as we or heirs or such officer or officers appointed by us or our heiirs from time to time to Collect and receive the same Shall accept in discharge thereof at the choice of us or our heirs or such officer or officers aforesaid Provided that if the said John Newman his heirs or assignees shall not pay unto us or our heirs or officer or officers aforesaid thesaid leins for a time before such alienicon? and enter the said alienacon upon Record either in the Provincial Court or in the County Court which the said parcel of land lyeth within one month after such alienacon the said alienicon shall be void and of none effect Given at St. Maries under our great Seal of our said Province of Maryland at this fourteenth day of September in the four and thirtieth year of our Dominion over our said Province of Maryland Anno Domini one thousand six hundred and sixty five Wittness our Dear Son and heir Charles Calvert Esq. our seventeenth Generall of our said Province of Maryland.
