A formatted version can be Viewed at http://usgenweb.org/md/talbot/wills/dawson-rs.pdf Name on will: Ralph Dawson Senr Date written: April 10, 1706 Date proved: July 8, 1706 Source of record: Prerogative Court (Wills) MSA S538, Liber 12, pp. 31-35 31 In the name of God amen I Ralph Dawson Sen{r} of Talbott County being Sick of body but of perfect & Sound memory thanks to almighty God for the same, and knowing y{e} uncertainty of this fraile & mortall life am willing to settle my worldly affairs before my Departure hence therefore I do hereby make ordain & appoint this my last will & testam{t} hereby annulling Revoking & making (Void) 32 Void all former & other wills whatsoever by me at anytime heretofore made and done § First § I Bequeath my soul into y{e} hands of Almighty God who gave it me in Sure & Certain hopes of a blessed resurrection thro^ the merritts and intercession of my Blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ my Body I Committ to the Ground and order it to be Decently Inteard according to the Discretion of my Ex{or} hereafter Named § 2{dly} § I give & bequeath to my Loving wife Mary Dawson my now Dwelling plantation w{th} Dwelling house & other small buildings adjoin= =ing Thereunto & one tobacco house or what other Buildings may or shall be on y{e} said plantacon at my decease y{t} is to Say on y{t} part or moiety of my said Land hereafter named & appointed her being part of a tract of land Called & known by the name of Lostock being for her part and parcel at marked red oake standing near Harrisses Creek side a little below y{e} now Dwelling house & running From y{e} said oake east to the western branch of a creek Called Second Creek & then the Severall courseys of y{e} pattent to the northermost bounds thereof & thence the Severall Courses of the same pattent to y{e} first bounded tree of the afd tract of Land being a pine Standing upon a poynt on y{e} afd Harrises Creek Side & running w{th} the Said Creek to y{e} first named Read oake all w{ch} Said Land I give to (my) 33 my Said wife dureing her naturall life & Imme= =diately after her decease to my three Daughters Elizabeth Mary & Ellinor Dawson to be Equally Divided amongst them or so many of them as shall be then living or to y{e} heirs of their bodys lawfully begotten of any living at that time. 3{dly} § I give & bequeath to my Loving Son Joseph Dawson all the remainder part of my Land Called Lostock as also one other tract called Lostocks Addition Cont{ng} Fifty acres according to Surveys w{ch} sd part or parcell is to begin at the first named red oake standing neare Harrises Creek Side & running down the said Creek its Severall Courses Southerly to the End of the Lines contained w{th}in y{e} afd Pattent as also Including the above named fifty acres of land called Lostocks addition all w{ch} Said Lands I give to my afd Son Joseph Dawson & to y{e} heirs of his Body lawfully Begotten y{t} is y{e} male heirs & so to decend to y{e} nxt male heirs forever Begotten of him & for want of Such Male heirs to my loving son Richard Dawson & to the lawful heirs of his body for ever & for want of such male heirs of his body to my loving son Robert Dawson to the lawful male heirs of his body forever & for want of such male heirs of his body to decend to the next male heir of the name of Dawson & so to decend forever § 4{thly} § I give & bequeath to my loving Sons Rich{d} Dawson & Rob{t} Dawson & to their heirs 300 acres of Land (to) 34 to ly and be w{th}in Talbott County w{ch} said Lands is now in the Possition of my sons Ralph Dawson & John Dawson & is to be made over by my afd Sons Ralph & John accordingly to a bond past to me by them & in case my said Sons Ralph Dawson & John Dawson shall refuse or delay to make over the said Lands according to bond to my afd Sons Richard & Robert y{t} then my sd sons Rich{d} & Robert Dawson shall have Right & party to the Said Bond & y{t} sume of tob{o} therein Contained shall be theirs for their parte of my Estate § 5{thly} § I give & bequeath to my loving wife all my psonall Estate Dureing her remaining a widdow & if in Case She Marrys;
