A formatted version can be Viewed at http://usgenweb.org/md/talbot/wills/gibson-w.pdf Name on will: Wollman Gibson Date written: February 2, 1741 Date proved: May 7, 1742 Source of record: Prerogative Court (Wills) MSA S538, Liber 22, pp. 482-484 482 In the Name of God Amen The Second Day of February in the Year of Our Lord God One Thousand Seven hundred forty One I Wollman Gibson of Talbot County in the Province of Maryland Gent. being very sick & weak in Body but of perfect mind & Memory thanks be given unto God for the Same therefore Calling unto mind the Mortality of my Body and (knowing) 483 knowing that it is appointed for all Men Once to Die do make and Ordain this my Last Will & Testament that is say Principally & first of all I Give & Recommend my Soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it, and for my Body I Commend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like manner at the Discretion of my Executors nothing Doubting but at the Generall Resurrection I shall Receive the same again by the Mighty Power of God, and as Touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me in this Life I Give Bequeath Devise and Dispose of the same in manner & form following. Impri{s} my will & Desire is that my Just Debts & Funeral Charges be paid & Discharged before any Division be made of my Personall Estate. Item I Give & bequeath unto my well beloved Wife Elizabeth Gibson my Now Dwelling Plantation During her Naturall Life and at her Decease to be and belong to my Son Bartholomew Gibson to him & the Male Heirs of his body Lawfully Begotten forever. Item I Give & bequeath to my Son Wollman Gibson that Plantation whereon my Father Last Resided to him & the Male Heirs of his body Lawfully Begotten forever. Item I Give & bequeath to my Son Jonathan Gibson that Plantation whereon my Brother Richard Gibson Now Lives to him & the Male Heirs of his body Lawfully Begotten forever. Item I will that the afs{d} three Grants of Premisses be equally Divided as well to Timber Ground as Tillage. Item I Give & bequeath to my Son John Gibson all that Tract or Parcell of Land lying on the Branches of Wye River Commonly known by the Name of Rebeccas Garden to him & the Male Heirs of his Body Lawfully Begotten forever. Item I Give & bequeath to my Son Jacob Gibson all my Right Title Claim Interest & Demand whatsoever in & unto two Tracts of Land Commonly known by the Name of Angells Rest and the Adventure both lying on the Branches of Chester and Sasafras Rivers to him & the Male Heirs of his Body Lawfully Begotten forever. Item my Will & Meaning is that all my afores{d} Devised Lands & Grants of Lands shall be & Remain in the Male heirs of our Gibson or Gibsons Lawfully Begotten forever without Selling Changeing or Mortgaging. Item my Will & Pleasure is that my Sister Barbara shall have the use of the Junior Room of the House she now Dwelleth in to her own proper use as also Ground Sufficient for what force of hands she shall have During her Maiden Life. Item my Will & Desire is that my Personall Estate (after my Just Debts Funeral Charges be Discharges and my Wifes third Taken out) shall be Divided among all my Children equally (to wit) To my Son Wollman, Jonathan, Daughter Margarett my Son John, Jacob Daughter Mary, Son Bartholomew and my Daughter Alice. Item I do hereby Authorize, Appoint and Impower my Son Wollman Gibson to make up, settle & make Returns to the Commissary of two Estates (To Wit) the Estate of Mrs Sarah Wollman, and my Fathers Coll: Jacob Gibsons. Lastly I do hereby Constitute appoint & Ordain my Well beloved Wife Elizabeth Gibson and my Son Wollman Gibson Executors of my Last Will & Testament, and I do hereby utterly Disallow Revoke & Disannull all and every other Wills and Testaments by me in any Wise before this time named willed & bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this as my Last Will and Testament.
