All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: robin roberts corriat@aol.com October 7, 2006, 11:15 pm Source: Snow Hill, Worcester Co., Md Library Written: October 5, 1780 recorded death - 14 Oct 1780.....being weak in body but thanks be to God of sound disposing mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of this life and desires to settel my worldly estate whith which it hath pleased God to bless me in manner and form following. **My loving wife, ELLES JOHNSON, use and occupation undisturbed of all my land and plantation whereon I now live to possess, use and enjoy the same .....with the whole of my personal estate for and during her widdohood and at the end she of than my wittes that she ..... the whole of my personal estate devolve to my children to be divided as my wife, ELLES thinks proper. **Son, SMITH JOHNSON, the mannor plantation and all land thereunto.....on the westside of mill branch together with grist mills, except to one of his brothers. **Sons, HENRY JOHNSON and SHEPERD JOHNSON, all the land on the east side of mill branch to be equally divided between them. HENRY'S part to be laid on west side of the BRICK SWAMP, SHEPERD'S to e laid for the west of his line, both to be of an equal width, to them, their heirs and assigns forever. My will is that neither shall make sale of their land except to one of their brothers. But having omitted my desire in the disposal of my mills, my will is that HENRY, SHEPERD, and SMITH have equal parts of both mills. My will is that back of land where my new mill is called SAWMILLS SUPPLIE be sold at the time my son, ELEAZAR, comes to age 21 yrs and the money be equally divided between ELEAZAR and son, JOHN. **Sons, SMITH, HENRY, SHEPERD build a house 18 ft. square at the old going-over the mill branch on the west side, the south branch for my three daughters, EBE, BETTY, POLLY and that they shall have a right to that house as long as they live a single life. Additional Comments: These Johnson's are my direct line, emigrating from Northampton Co., VA to Accomack Co. VA, and up to MD, then some went to OHIO and OREGON.
