All Rights Reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm ********************************************************* Catherine Troxell Bill of Sale Washington Co., MD Land Record Book G7 p 300, 301 At the request of Catherine Droxall the following Bill of sale was recorded Jany. 10th 1791 to wit Know all men by these presents that I David Droxelle [D over written with T, changed to Troxelle] of Washington County State of Mariland farmer for and in consideration of the sum of fifty six pound current money to me in hand paid by Catharine Troxel of the same place as aforesaid whereof I do hereby acknowledge the receipt and myself therewith fully satisfied have bargained sold set over and delivered by these presents in plain and open markett according to the just and due form of law in that case made and provided do bargain set over and deliver unto the said Catharine Troxel hir hairs and assigns one Rone horse about nine years old one Rone mare about seven years old also two milk cows the one read about nine years old the other read with some white about six years old also one old wagon with two pare of horse gears also one plough with everything belonging to it and also all farming utensils also two beds two chairs and all the household and kitchen furniture and also all my books of all kinds whatsoever is the aforesaid Davids to have and to hold the said bargained and sold creators [creatures] things unto the said Catharine Troxell hir hairs and assigns forever to hir & there own proper use and behoof and to and for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever provided never the less that if the aforesaid David Troxel his hairs executors or administrators shall pay and satisfy or cause to be paid and satisfied unto the aforesaid Catharine Troxel hir hairs or assigns or provided that David Troxel pays Catharine Troxel the several sums of money for which hir the said Catharine is bound on account of said David and for which she shall hereafter become bound on or before the first day of February next ensuing the date hereof that then the above bill of sale to be void and of none effect otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue In witness whereof I the said David Troxel hath hereunto set my hand and affixed my seale this 10 day of January 1791 David Troxell Sealed and delivered in the presents of H Shryock, Johannes __?__ [ signed in German ] On the back of the same was wrote the following indorsement to wit Maryland Washington county Ss Be it remembered that on the 10 day of January 1791 came the within named David Troxel and acknowledged the within Bill of Sale to be his act and deed and the bargained and sold creatures things and books therein mentioned to be the right and estate of the within named Catharine Troxel hir heir and assigns on the same therein mentioned Acknowledged before H Shryock [Transcribers note: The surname is written Droxall, Droxelle, Troxelle, Troxel, Troxell in the document and signed Troxell . Catherine is the widow of Abraham Troxell. ]
