Maryland free press. (Hagerstown [Md.]): December 12, 1862
Departed this life on the 24 of October last, in Frederick, Mrs. Letitia Stull, wife
of Otho H. W. Stull of Cumberland in the 76th year of her age. Thus has passed from
trouble and pain to sweet rest, a meek and gentle spirit. In all the relations of
life, she was faithful. As a wife, none was more constant in her affection for, and
devotion to the husband, with whom she had lived fifty-four years. As a mother, she
was kind, tender and affectionate. As a friend unwavering and steady. Her
benevolence, was noiseless, as the dews of heaven. In older days she was a most
important member of the social circle of Hagerstown, but for the last twenty years
she has resided elsewhere. Scarcely a friend of her youth was left to pay sad
tribute to her many estimable traits. She was interred in the Episcopal cemetery in
Hagerstown, amongst her deceased children, and friends, and the acquaintance of
by-gone years. Her venerable husband and her surviving children, have this to cheer
and console them, that she was prepared for her summons, and is now at rest with the
happy.
"White the soft memory of her virtues yet lingers like twilight hues, when the
bright sun is set.”
