I, John Rohrer of Washington County and State of Maryland being weak in body and of old age and knowing that it is appointed for all fles to yeild unto death - I do on the 23 day of January in the year of our Lord 1824 constitute and ordain this my last will and testament revokeing and disnulling every will and Testament by me heretofore made null and void and this only to be taken as my last Will and Testament. And first I recommed my soul to almighty God who gave it hopeing through the merits of Jesus Christ to inherit the kingdom of Heaven prepared for his Elect and Chosen - And now for setling my temporal Estate and such Goods and Chattles as it hath pleased God to bless me with, I settle in the following manner. - First, I will and order that all my Just depts and funeral charges shall be paid by my Executors out of my whole Estate. I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Eve Rohrer during her natural life the house and land adjoining thereto wherein Christian Hastletous did live in which land is to be laid off by my Executors hereafter named in the most advantageous manner they can, so as not to inger the rest of my Real Estate as little as possable and after hir death then my Executors to sell the aforesaid land within one year after hir decease to the best advantage they can and the money arising from the sale to be Equilly devided among the whole of my children of their heirs - the aforesaid land to be laid off to my wife so as to give her sufficient wood for her use during her life. I further will and order that my wife Eve Rohrer shall first draw out of my whole Estate the sum of fifty dollars to be paid to her out of my Estate by my Executors and she to have two Cows, the choise of my stock, and as much of all kind of houshold and kitchen furniture as she may chose to take. I will and order that my Executors shall sell my whole personal property which is not already willed away within one year after my decease at public sale - and to sell the whole of my Real Estate within two years after my decease to the best advantage they can - I will and order that one thousand dollars from the sale of my Real Estate shall be and remain unpaid dureing the life of my wife Eve, and the interest of said one thousand dollars shall be paid yearly by my Executors to my wife during her natural life, and I further will and order that if faillure should be made in not paying hir yearly the aforesaid interest of the one thousand dollars that she shall have full power and authority to sell or rent out as much of my Real Estate as to pay hir the aforesaid Interest yearly - and at my wife decease, the aforesaid one thousand dollars to be paid by the purchaser or purchasers to my Executors and they to divide and pay over the same Equilly to the whole of my children - I will and order that the ballance of the Real and personal Estate shall be equilly divided among the whole of my children - in the following manner - whereas I advanced my Samuel Rohrer four hundred and sixty six dollars in my life time as part of his lagacy, - an I advanced to my Daughter Eve Hastleston the sum of three hundred and thirty eight dollars as part of her lagacy - and I advance and paid to my Daughter Magdalen Rohrer the sum of Eighty eight Dollars as part of her lagacy - I advanced and paid to my Daughter Catharine Hansberry the sum of eighty eight dollars in part of her lagacy -/ and I advanced and paid my Daugter Anna Puffinbarger the sum of one hundred and twenty four dollars as part of her lagacy./ I will and order that I have advanced the aforesaid sums of money to the aforesaid Children and that each of my children shall be paid by my Executors the sum of four hundred and sixty six dollars out of the first money they receive out of my Estate to make them Equil to what I paid to my son Samuel deducting from those I have paid the sums as above mentioned and when each child has received the aforesaid sum of four hundred and sixty six dollars including my daughter Elizabeth children she being now ded. I had advanced and paid her in her life time the sum of one hundred and twenty four dollars as part of her lagacy which sum must be taken and deducted of her children's part - and I further paid my Daughter Catharine Hansberry in addition to the above eighty eight dollars the sum of ninety seven dollars which two sums must and shall be deducted from her Equil lagacy - and when Each of the whole of my children has received the aforesaid four hundred and Sixty Six dollars including Elizabeth's children then I wll and order that as my xecutors receves any part of my Estate that it shall be Equilly devided among the whole of them - whereas my Daughter Margaratt and my Daughter Susana are now living with me in the house andthey have accumulated from industry and care sum household furniture and other Itams I hereby will and order that all those articles that they clame as their own shall not be taken into my Estate and that it shall not be counted to their lagacy devised to them by this my will - I hereby nominate and appoint David Rohrer son of my brother Frederick and my son John Rohrer whole and sole Executors of this my last will and Testament, and do hereby authorise and einpow them to sell and convey any lands, and to transact all my business in my stead - and I do hereby will and order that they shall receive out of my Estate for a compensation for all their trouble in setling my whole Estate the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars - In witness whereunto I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal as my last Will and Testamant in the presents of the subscribing witnesses. John Rohrer (seal) (in German) Chrisian Wyand, Christian Rohrer, George Thomas Washington Count, To wit: - Onthis 23rd Feby 1826 came David Rohrer and John Rohrer and made oath that this is the true and whole will of John Rohrer late of said County deceased that hath come to their hands and possession and that they do not know of any other - At the same time came Christian Wyand , Christian Rohrer & George Thomas and made oath that they did hear the testator above named, publish, pornounce and declare the aforegoing will to be his last will and testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposng mind memory and understanding, that they subscribed their names to this will in the presence and at the request of the testator and in the presence of each other.
