HANDY CEMETERY

This is a family cemetery on private property belonging to Mrs. Bernice Handy, widow of 
Thomas C. Handy who died June 1998.    It is located along the west side of Capitola Road, 
about 350 feet off road, opposite house, approximately 0.9 miles south of MD Route  349.    
The property/cemetery has been handed down in the family from Carr Handy, a former slave, 
born in 1838.  It is well kept, and the Handy Family is obviously proud to maintain it so. 
Mrs. Handy was very gracious in welcoming us to document the site.  She also told us 
of two other sites nearby.  Recorded August 8, 1999 by Ralph Willing and Paul Willing.
