This time, she's providing a listing of the headstone data found at the Salisbury Cemetery. We're grateful for your generous nature, Jill! Here's what Jill has to say about this cemetery: Salisbury Cemetery, located between Rte 50 and Commerce St in Salisbury is a study in contrasts. The cemetery is easily accessible (just park at Arby's) and the grounds are well-kept. The stones are another story. Many are broken, half buried in the ground, or lying completely face-down. Also, there were about 5 or 6 depressions in the ground with no stones at all. The stones that were still standing were extremely hard to read. I had to rely heavily on John Jacob's book to fill in the blanks. The cemetery is located on both sides of the street. I only had time to finish one side because I was due at Hughes Family Reunion meeting (held at Arby's). I hope to do the other side the next time I visit my Mother. My comments will be in single parens ( ). Information that I got from Jacob's book will be in double parens (( )).
