AMANDA JONES-ROBINSON TOMBSTONE, WORCESTER CO., MD Rte. 113 South 6 miles south of Snow Hill, MD 1 south of Beth Eden Church Road & 113 S. This file is part of the MD Tombstone Transcription Project: http://www.usgwtombstones.org/maryland/maryland.html ********************************************* http://usgwarchives.net/md/mdfiles.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************* Contributed to The USGenWeb Tombstone Transcription Project & USGenWeb Archives by: Rob Hall (Laien@aol.com) | Contributed: November 19, 2006 To contribute additional information or a tombstone transcription, please contact the MD Tombstone Transcription Project Manager Kathi Jones-Hudson at mdcemmy@yahoo.com Contributor's Notes: There is also a footstone with her initials " A.J.R." The inscription on the stone is as clear as clear as the day it was put there. No other graves appear to be in the area, and it is likely she was the wife of a farmer. There is an old farmhouse across the road, across a field. I did not find this couple in any of the published marriage records for Worcester County. Update: I've done a little more research on the subject lady, and can now identity her as Amanda Washington Jones, 1st wife of Cyrenius Frances Robinson. She apparently died as a result of complications from childbirth. Their dau. Bertie Lee Robinson was born 20 Oct 1880. Cyrenius F. Robinson (1855-1929) was the son of William Melvin Robinson (b.c. 1818) and Susan Mitchell (b.c.1828). His 2nd wife (mar. 09 Sep 1883) was Jane Wise Jones (1867-1958), younger sister of Amanda. Both were daughters of Hezekiah W. Jones (1824-1888) & Julia Ann Mason (1828-1912).
