GRAVE #6 SACRED to the memory of EMELINE PARKER Daughter of Charles and Amelia Parker who was born Jan 3rd 1819 and who died April 10th 1833 In the summer of 1950, J T P Dryden also transcribed from another headstone the name of another Selby Parker, a son of Charles and Amelia Parker, who was born on June 30th 1816 and died on May 21st 1830 (this headstone also missing by the fall of 1982). Also in 1950, George Ewell Dryden removed from the site a fieldstone with the initials E.P. and the date 1806 (both crudely etched on the stone) and took same to his residence in Stockton, MD. This fieldstone is now in the possession of his son, John Thomas Parker Dryden in Orlando, FL. The assumption is that this may be the marker for the grave of Elizabeth Truitt, the first wife of Selby Parker and the mother of Col. Charles Parker. Anyhow, great-great-grandmother Elizabeth Parker's 1806 tombstone greets all "trick-or-treaters" on each All Hallows Eve. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
