The Hannibal Journal June 7, 1849
The trial of Rev. Thomas J. Burrows, charged with the murder of James B. 
Bishop, in Snow Hill, Md., was brought to a close on the 14th ult.  The jury, 
after an absence of an hour, returned a verdict of "Not Guilty."  
The "Worchester County Shield" says, a more unrighteous verdict was never 
given upon any case.
