The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Will of Edmond Cropper 21 June 1799 Worcester County, Maryland (Will Book JBR - 17, 18, 19) In the name of God Amen, I Edmond Cropper, _____ of Worcester County in the State of Maryland, being sick and weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding, calling to mind the uncertainty of human life do make constitute and appoint this my last will and Testament as followeth~~~~ First, I give and devise unto my son, Edmond Cropper all my lands lying on the south and westermost side of Governors Grant known of the name of Hog Quarter, and all that part of a Tract of land called Mills Neglect, which lies on that side next to Thomas Burbages land upon the Road which leads from the Corner of the plantation where my Son Josiah Cropper lives, to Thomas Burgess Plantation to my Son Edmond Cropper, his heirs and assigns forever; Also I give and devise to my Son John Cropper all that part of a Tract of land which I purchased of Edward Hammond and also all that part of the same Tract which I got of John Purnell, call Delight, Beginning at a marked Post, and thence running with a line of marked Trees, which I had run out and marked sometime past, lying and adjoining Riley Bowins land and Whittington Bowins land, to him, his heirs and assigns forever; Also I give and devise to my son Josiah Cropper all the remaining part of the Tract of land which I purchased ofJohn Purnell which has not been devised before and all the remaining part of Mills Neglect, not devised before to my son Edmond, and all that part of a tract of land call, Addition, - part of which I deeded to Thomas Burbage, to my son Josiah his heirs and assigns forever ~ Lastly, I give and bequeath all the remaining part of my Estate to be Equally divided between my Children, Edmond, John, Josh, Leah, Holland and Emil, to them and their heirs forever ~ And to my daughter Elizabeth, I have given her already the part of my Estate, which was her proportion, also I have given all to my son Ebenezer, before he deceased, which I designed to give him and also I have given my Daughter Sabrina all the part of my Estate allotted for her and lastly I have given all the part of my Estate to my Daughter Sarah Reynolds, which I allotted for her.~~~ I revoke and dismiss all wills formerly made by me and acknowledge this to be my last will and testament. Also I appoint my son Edmond Cropper to be Executor of this my last will and Testament in witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 21st day of June in the year of our lord one thousand Seven hundred and ninety nine. Then came Edmond William Cropper and made oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty that the written McKinney Hook instrument of writing is the true and whole will and Testament of Edmond Cropper _______late of Worcester County deceased that hath come to his hands or possession and that he doth not know of any other. Then came James Wilson, William Cropper, and McKenney Hook The three subscribing witnesses to this written last will and Testament of Edmond Cropper ___, late of Worcester County deceased and severally made oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the Testator therein named sign and seal this will and that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and Testament and that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound disposing mind memory and understanding and that they respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to this will the presence and at the request of the Testator and in the presence of each other.~~~~~~~~~~ Before James B. Robins Reg. WC. Maryland, ___Know all men by these presents that we Edmond Cropper, John Cropper and Thomas Purnell ___ of Worcester County and State of Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of one thousand pounds current money of Maryland to be paid to the said State to which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves, our heirs, Executors and Administrators in and for the whole jointly and severally firmly by those present seal with our seals and dated this 30th day of August, Amio Domini 1799~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden Edmond Cropper shall well and truly perform the Office of Executor of Edmond Cropper late of Worcester County deceased, according to law and shall in all respects discharge the duties of him required by Law as Executor ___without any injury or damage to any person interested in the faithful performance of the said Office.
