Davis the land and plantation whereon I now live with all my land adjoining said plantation (providing he shall pay unto my son Littleton, three hundred dollars within three years after my decease) to him, his heirs and assigns forever, Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Susan Davis one Negro man named Ben, also one Negro woman named Rachael and one Negro girl named Letty. Also one best bed and furniture to her and her heirs and assigns forever, Item: I give and bequeath unto my son Littleton one Negro named Jacob to him, his heirs and assigns forever. I give and bequeath unto my son Silas Davis one best horse in lieu of the one he left with me which I sold, also one hundred dollars current money to him, his heirs and assigns forever. I give and bequeath unto my son Peter, one Negro woman named Sarah also one girl named Maria to him, his heirs and assigns forever. I give unto my son Simon one Negro boy named Causey, also one Negro girl named Mary to him, his heirs and assigns forever. Item: My will is that the remainder not yet legaced shall be sold by my executor under directions of the orphans court and after settling my estate, the surplus to be equally divided between the following children (voz) Silas, Simon, Peter and Littleton to them and their heirs and assigns forever. Lastly I hereby constitute my son Isaac Davis to be sole executor of this my last will and testament and do hereby and utterly revoke and dismiss all other wills here to fore made by me strenghting and ratifiing this and no other to be my last will and testament in testimony I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 24th day of February 1812. Then came Isaac P. Davis and made oath of the holy Evangely of Almighty God this the aforegoing instrument of writing is the true and whole will and testament of Nixon Davis, later of Worcester County, deceased that hath come to his hand or possession and that he doth not know of any other. Before /s/ MATTHEW HOPKINS December the 19th Anno Domain 1815 then came John J. Lamberson and Lodowick Davis, two of the subscribing witness es to the within last will and testament of Nixon Davis, late of Worcester County deceased and severally made oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that they did see the said Nixon Davis, the testator sign and seal this will and that they heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament that at the time of his doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound mind and disposing mind, memory and understanding, and that they with Esther Lamberson, the other subscribing witness (who is since died) respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in the presence and at the request of the testator and in the presence of each other.
