The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** Will of Charles Henderson (1687-1762) In the name of God amen I Charles Henderson of Worcester County being weak in body but sound and perfect mind and memory prases be therefore given to Almighty God do make and ordain this my present (last) Will and Testament in manner and forme following that is to say first and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping through the merrits death and passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins and to Inherit everlasting life and my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named and as Tutching the disposition of all suc Temporal Estate as it hath pleased the Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followth First I will that my debts and furnel charges shall be paid and discharged 1 Item I give and bequeath to my son William Henderson all my Land March & Cypress Swamp after my wifes decease to him and his heirs lawfully begotten of his body forever 2 Item I give and bequeath to my Son Jessey Henderson my negro garle Betty after my wifes deceas and also my gun and the feather Bed and furniture that I newly one after my Wifes deceas and one large iron pott and one large Puter bason holds a Gallon and one large puter dish and four puter plaits 3 Item I give and bequeath to my Son William Henderson my negro man George after my Wifes deceas to him and his heirs or Assigns and likewise one large puter dish and one iron pott rack and one large Iron bound Chest and one Iron pot holds about five gallons 4 Item I give and bequeath to my Son Jessey Henderson one iron pott rack and one pair of fior Tongs and Shovel and flesh forks and a large Tin bound Chest 5 Item I give and bequeath to my Son William Henderson my whip saw and likewise my Crosscut Saw 6 Item I give and bequeath to my Son Jesse Henderson one Iron Chane 7 Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Levinah Blaids one Iron scillett and likewise one Iron Cittle and puter Chamber pott and one small puter bason and six puter Spoons and one Cow and Calf 8 Item I give and bequeath to my Grandson Curtes Henderson one feather Bed and furniture and one Cow and Calf and one Small Iron pott My will and desire is that all the good and chattels mentioned in my Will my continue in my wifes posseon during her life Item I give and bequeath to my two Sons William and Jessey all my personal Estate that is not heretofore mentioned after my Wifes decease equally to be divided Lastly I do constitute and appoint my loving Wife Purtheney Henderson and my Son William Henderson to be my true and lawful Executors of this my last Will and Testement. In Witness whereof I the said Charles Henderson to the last Will and Testement have set my hand and fixed my saele this thirteth day of October One thousand seven hundred and sixty one. signed Charles Henderson wax seal his mark --- Seied & Acknowledg in the presents of Joshua Merrill Mary Blaids her mark Rachel Young her mark January 29th 1762 Then Came Joshua Merrill and Mary Blaids two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing Will and made Oath on the holy Avengalis of Almighty that they saw Charles Henderson the Testor Sign Seal and heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament and that at the time of his so doing he was to the Best of the apprehenson of a Sound disposing mind and memory and that they subscribed their names as Witnesses to the said Will in the presence of the Testator and at his request and also that they saw Rachel Young the other subscribing Witness sign her name as a Witness to the said Will in the presence of the Testator and at his request. Sworn before Benton Harris Depty Com of Worcester County Whereas I the subscriber being appointed with my Mother Joint Executors of the last Will and Testament of Charles Henderson. This to artific all concerned that I Relinquish and renounce the said Joint Executorship as Witness my Hand this 29th day of Jan 1762. William Henderson his mark
