A formatted version can be Viewed at http://www.usgwarchives.net/md/worcester/wills/howard-s.pdf Sarah (-----) Howard (d1752) Husbands: 1) William Hall 2) George Howard (c1741) Will Worcester County MD Maryland Hall of Records 28:313 (Microfilm SR4422-2) Written 16 February 1752 Proved 3 April 1752 In the Name of God Amen I Sarah Howard Widow of the County of Worcester and province of Maryland being Sick and weak of Body but of perfect Mind & Memory Calling to mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all flesh ones to dye do make this my last Will and Testament and my desire is it may be Acknowledged by all as Such first and principally I Recommend my Soul unto the hands of Almighty God which give it as for my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent Manner at the discretion of my Executors hereafter Named but as for my Worldly Estate which it hath pleased God to bless me with in this Life I give Bequeath and demise in Manner following Imprimis my desire is that all my Just debts and funeral Charges be first paid and discharged by my Executors. Item I will and Bequeath unto my Son Samuell Hall and his Wife the Sole use of the plantation and Land thereto belonging during their Natural lives where they now live (Called Hall{s} Choice) Item I give and Bequeath unto my Grandson Sam{l} Hall Son of Samuel after the decease of his father and mother they having the use during their Natural Lives all that tract or parcel of Land called Halls Choice lying and being on the head of the Sound whereon his father now dwells and to be possessed by my said Grandson Samuel Hall his heirs and Assigns for Ever after the decease of his father and Mother. Item I give and Bequeath unto my Son Nehemjah Howard his heirs and Assigns for ever one Negro Woman called Jubit also one horse also one Case of Bottles to be holden by him my said Son Nehemjah his heirs and Assigns for ever Item I give and bequeath unto my Son George Howard his heirs and Assigns for Ever one Negro Boy named Joe also one Case of Bottles and to be holden by him my said Son George his heirs and Assigns for Ever. Item I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah Aydelott her heirs and Assigns forever one Negro Girl called Phebe also one half part of my wearing Apparel to be holden by my said Daughter Sarah her heirs and Assigns for Ever. Item I give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Woodcraft one Negro Girl (Names Lettiss) also the other half part of my Wearing Apparel to be equally divided between her Sister Sarah and herself and to be holden by her my said Daughter Mary her heirs and Assigns for Ever. Item I give and Bequeath unto my Six Children Vizt John Hall, Samuel Hall, Nehemjah Howard, George Howard, Sarah Aydelott and Mary Woodcraft the Rest and Residue of my Goods and Chattles that hath not heretofore been given to be equally divided amongst my said Six Children and to be holden by them their heirs and Assigns for Ever. Lastly, I Constitute make ordain and appoint my said Six Children (named John Hall, Samuel Hall, Nehemjah Howard, George Howard Sarah Aydelott and Mary Woodcraft Executors and Executrix{s} of this my last Will and Testam{t} I do hereby Revoke disanull all and every other former Will or Wills or Testaments by me any wise written and Bequeathed Ratyfying and Confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament in Testimony where off I the said Sarah Howard Widow do hereunto Sett my hand and Seal this Sixteenth day of February in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifty two Sarah (her mark) Howard (Seal) Signed Sealed Published & pronounced by the Above named Sarah Howard as her last Will and Testament in presence of us Witnesses Joseph Carter John Onions David Aydelott On the Back of the foregoing Will was thus Written Vizt April 3{d} 1752 Came Joseph Carter and David Aydelott two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the within Will and made Oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that they Saw Sarah Howard the Testator Sign Seal and heard her publish pronounce and declare that the within or foregoing Writing was her last Will and Testament and that at the time of her So doing She was to the best of their apprehension of a Sound disposing mind and memory and that they Subscribed their Names as Witnesses to the said Will in the presence of the Testator and at her Request.
