Sep 1909 France. He was a physician educated in
Paris and moved to USA in 1785 settling with his wife
in Beverly MA. Children: Anthony Jr b 1798, moved to
Lyman in 1802

LUQUES Orlando a liberal education for Obit LEJ 21
Sep 1909 Kennebunkport ME public school & Kent's Hill
(Readfield ME) foor three years. He began as fireman
in the service of the Androscoggin railroad when he
was 22 years old. After his marriage he lived in
Waterville but moved to Auburn Me in 1857. Mr Luques
fired for a year and a half for the Androscoggin
line. The terminus was then at Danville Jct. He
then went to Waterville to take charge of the wheels
and running gear of the road at that work-shop. His
first engineering was on a gravel train running out
of the pit at Leeds. In winters he ran the plow. He
ran the train from Danville ME to Lewiston for 11 yrs
& Waterville to Poortland for 10 yrs on the passenger
train.

Maxwell was the s/o Nathaniel Maxwell. In 1870 he
moved to Lewiston & Auburn to work at his brick mason
trade. One of the well-known buildings that he
helped erect was the Elm Street Universalist in
Auburn ME and his last work was on the Coe block in
Lewiston. Few men have taken greater interest in
Free Masonry than did Mr Maxwell. He was raised to
the Master Mason 12 June 1854 and was the oldest
living past master of Traquil lodge F & AM of Auburn.
