He likely came to Boston, Ma, in the famous Boyd Colony. He lived for a short time near Old Orchard Beach, ME. Moving to a portion of Freeport, ME, which was known as Flying Point. He settled & carried on in a very successful farm where he built a strong blockhouse, as a protection for the neighborhood from the Indians. He was a noted Indian fighter during the French & Indian Wars. The Cumberland County, ME Registry of Deeds shows the sale to Jacob Anderson of portions of the Dummer Claim, in what was then North Yarmouth, ME, and on the adjacent Island off Flying Point. These Islands were called Middle Brother, Upper Brother, and the sow and Pigs.
