He was tall in stature, rather spare, witha countenance expressing decision and firmness, politically he was a republican, in religion he professed the faith of the Universalists, when a young man he lived a few years in Webster (ME) conducting a retail grocery, potash works, a tavern, having a little land and once buying a drove of cattle for the Brighton market the latter enterprise was said was attended with loss. After a few years residence at Robinson's Corner Webster, he returned to Lewiston (ME) and spent the remainder of his long life upon the valuable farm that had been the home of wife's father, Jacob Barker, upon which he labored industriously. He had held public offices in both towns had been a colonel in the Militia, discharging all his public and private duties intelligently and conscientiously. Col Ebenezer Ham on 11 Apr 1826, takes a lease of half an acre of and the `white Store' at Robinson Corner, Webster, of Capt Isaiah Jordan and is to Pay $20 rent annually and afterwards, buys the same for $233.20. Mar 1833 he sells his real estate at Robinson's Corner, Webster, consists of acre of land with the buildings for $600 to Foster D Wentworth, the notorious Arnolds Wentworth being one of the subscribing witnesses to deed and who committed suicide in Portland jail in 1853, being committeed to jail for forging pension papers.
