The funeral was 15 Mar by Rev Haskell of Lewiston ME. Foster Wentworth bought in 30 Mar 1835 of Ebenezer Ham a stand at Robinson's Corner, Lisbon (now Webster, ME) consisting of an acre of land, a house, stable and store, all frame buildings for which he paid $600. After his marriage he kept a tavern, with the entertainment to visitors included intoxicating liquors. He continued this business for some years, himself being a generous patron of the bar. He had when young attended the public schools of the town. He was once elected a selectmen of Webster. Moving to Fayette, ME, he for some years carried on a farm and a tavern. After a few years he returned to Webster and by an arrangement with his grandfather, Foster Wentworth, he moved into the latter's house. Carring on his farm of ninety acres he gave his grandparents and his Aunt Tabitha a maintence for life and he became the owner. Mr Bryent who knewn him stated, "Foster was of full stature, had been afflicted with rheumatism, had a very good opinion of himself, unscrupulous in his dealings, and was untruthful." He was first a Whig and then Republican. In religion was a Universalist, nominally. Shortly after the death of Foster's wife he ceased almost wholly from his accustomed employments. He spent his time eating rich foods, smoked tabacco in a strong pipe day and night. He became enfeebled and emaciated, was morose required constant attendance by some members of the family. He had become almost wholly unemployed, resulting in his disolution. His remains were buried in the cemetery in the NW part of Lisbon. This cemetery was an one arce lot given by Dr Vaughn of Hallowell, ME, and later being reduced to half that extent by the act of John L Davis and his father, Jonathan or as he was called "Jack Davis" whose monument there will attest the wickedness of the act.
