Seventy-five miles N. N. W. of Houlton, via Ashland. On stage-line from Ashland
to Fort Kent. Formerly Township No. 13, R. 6. Organized 1872. Named from the
lake and its "carry". Population-1870, 124; 1880, 132. Valuation, 1880-Polls,
29; Estates. $23,018.
