Mrs. John Baker, Madawaska, Maine: MADAM:-The Resolve, a copy of which is annexed, having been passed by the legislature, I am authorized by the Council to inform you, that any supplies which may be necessary for the sup-port of your family during the imprisonment of your husband Mr. John Baker, at Frederickton, on the grounds on which he is at present detained will be paid out of the Treasury of this State. The accounts must be furnished with a proper authentication of their correctness, and satisfactory testimony of the propriety and necessity of the supplies. A direction to the Secretary of State of any communication you may wish to make will probably ensure its safe direction. I am Madam, very respectfully Your most obedient servant, A.
