Highland Plantation, or Township 2 Range 2 in Bingham's Kennebec Purchase on the
West side of the Kennebec River, is in Somerset County, Maine and bounds:
Carrying Place, Pleasant Ridge, 2R1 BKP WKR, Jerusalem. Highland, Maine is thirty-two
miles north-northwest of Skowhegan, Maine. The name was change to Highland in 1871.
