Oakfield is a town in Aroostook County, which bounds on Smyrna, New Limerick, 
Linneus, 4R3 Wels, Dyer Brook. Previous designation 5R3. It was settled in 1831. 
Organized 17 Apr 1866. Incorporated 24 Feb 1897 as the 463rd town in Maine.
