Tarr was 36? Ezekiel BRAY m int 31 Jan 1801 to Mrs Anna TARR both of the "Pejepscot Clame" [sic] (Vital Record New Gloucester p 39) Their marriage record was stated "Ezekiel DAY" [sic] m 5 Mar 1801 to Mrs Anna TARR by Peleg CHANDLER Jr [Typed official town records] . The name, Ezekiel BRAY, appears many times in Danville public & private records in Danville; hovever, the name, Ezekiel Day, appears only in the above typed marriage record. Ezekiel Bray was elected to the office of Hogreeves at Pejebscot's (Danville's) first town meeting on 12 Apr 1802, this was the only record found noting public service. In New England, newly married men of the town were often elected to this "important" office. Ezekiel Bray of New Gloucester ME on 10 Dec 1789 bought Lot # 15 in Range four in the town of Buckstown, Cumberland Co from Edmund Chandler of Buckston (Deed 19 p 493 recorded 21 Dec 1792). Mrs Anna TARR was the widow of Solomon TARR, who died in 1799, according to notes by the late Ebenezer Poole of Gloucester, the s/o James & Lucy (Poole) TARR. Solomon Tarr was born 15 Jul 1764 at Gloucester MA and died before 1801. She m Solomon Tarr (m int 24 Aug 1784) at Gloucester MA. Anna was b 19 Nov 1765 at Gloucester MA, d/o Deacon Jabez ROW (e) We do not know if this means, but Andrew Giddings Diary states on 11 June 1805 .... PM helping Job mend fence. Doctor Thorne return'd from N Hampshire (Bray's child buried). Was this a child of Ezekiel & Anna? In True Woodbury's Diary dated 6 May 1807 states "I lent Mrs Bray two pounds and fourteen ounces of pork....." Was this Anna (Rowe)(Tarr) Bray? On 30 Jan 1806 Andrew Giddinge diary "began to plaister rooms, finish'd two -" Fri 31 Plaister'd Kitchin, finish'd plaistering evg & smoth'd same, (Ezekiel) Bray 2 days, Paid Hugh WOODBURY $10. Their bill for 7 days masons finish'd at 7/6 ---- $8.75. (Ezekiel) Bray 2 days at 6/ & 4/6, Rodolph YOUNG 1 day 3/-" "24 June 1804 Sunday", Andrew Giddinge writes, " About noon it begain to rain hard -- set plants & Rodolph YOUNG debit to cash 49 cents --- on acct of (Ezekiel) BRAY " Giddinge Diary 2 Jul 1804 "noon Rain, hay wett ---- PM Wrote a letter of attorney on warant for Mr (Ezekiel) Bray to his debit 2/6. Wrote one ditto ( a letter of attorney on warant) for Rodolph YOUNG --- debit 2/6, Charged to (Ezekiel) BRAY." On 3rd Apr 1803 Andrew Giddinge's Diary, "Lent Ezekel BRAY one pint of Rum for sickness for a few days." Children by her first husband: i Nancy (Anna) [printed vital records state bapt 15 Mar1784; however, Mrs Runkle stated, "I check original records on microfilm to learn that the 5th Parish records state 1787 not 1784 ."Gloucester MA. She was of Pejepscot ME m 22 Nov 1803 at Minot ME Rodolph Young of Minot ME She settled in what is now Auburn ME before 1803. ii Deborah* b 1789 [was ae 16yrs in 1805, Essex Probate records] m int 26 May 1808 Joshua Tarr, she mostly died and he m(2) her sister Rhoda. iii Solomon* b 1792, 13 Nov 1869 ae 76y 10m 20d [Vol 4p390 Poole] m 28 Dec 1815 Martha Elwell iv James* b 1794, d 1870 m 4 Sept 1813 Mary Higgins v Rhoda* b 1791 (or born 1797 probate records states ae 8yrs in 1805) m 1814 Joshua Tarr. vi Mary Lailen b 19 Aug 1797 or b 1800 m 19 Mar 1818 at Danville ME to David Hollis b 30 June 1796 s/o Richard & Sarah (Hanscom) Hollis. (although probate records support the fact the daughter of Solomon & Anna (Rowe) Tarr was the wife of David Hollis, she was only 5yrs old on 2 Sept 1805; therefore she was born no earlier than 3 Sept 1799 at Gloucester MA He was educated in Pejepscot schools as a young man serving as a private in Capt Henry Froster's Co of Militia 1814, in the company of Ensign Thomas Goss in 1815. He was also elected a tythingman in 1830.
