William GOTT the 3rd  was born 20 Sep 1772 [ s/o William &
Sarah (Gammage) GOTT Jr of Gloucester MA, according to notes
by  the late Albert Bryant of Leeds ME] d at Wayne ME formerly
Leeds ME 10 Jan 1859/60 ae 87y 3m.  He m(1)  by Ichabod Bonney
Esq on 26 Dec 1790, Deborah -Bryant b 1778  at Halifax MA d/o
Hezekiah & Deborah (Crocker) Bryant of Turner ME.  In a
Portland Me newspaper, Gazette of Maine issue 2 Aug 1794
states " Mrs William -Gott (being insane) at Littleboro Plt
(Leeds/Greene) -ME with an axe killed one of her children -&
badly wounded another after cutting her own throat" He m(2)

[NB That the William Gott family is likely a family that moved
from Gloucester MA after the American Revolution, maybe was
living with his family on the Pejebscot Claim in 1790, as he
was single and was not counted in Greene  in 1790. There is a
William Gott  listed as a settler in Greene ME in 1784
[Androscoggin Historical Society settlers list made by  a
court order of 1800]. Our hypothesis is he was  William Gott's
father]
