Col. Samuel Waldo was the son of Brig. Gen. Samuel Waldo, who died, on the Penobscot River, May 23, 1759. Col. Waldo died April 16, 1770, aged 47 years, and was buried with great parade, under St. Paul's Church on Middle Street, in Falmouth, now Portland, Maine. After the burning of Falmouth by Capt. Mowatt, in 1775, his body was exhumed and carried to Boston, and probably rests in the family tomb. Additional Comments: Maine Historical and Genealogical Record, Vol. 9, 1898, p. 151.
