Transcribed and submitted by Karen Ray From Cook's Corner intersection, Old Rte 1 (aka Bath Road) north 2 miles, turn right on Adams Road. Cemetery is 1.3 miles on left. Though within the Brunswick limits, this cemetery is much closer to West Bath & Harpswell. I walked & transcribed this cemetery summer 1999. Names & dates previously transcribed several times. In the 1930's, Mary Pelham Hill listed 105 graves; which included the graves in what is now known as the Adams and Hinckley Cemeteries. In 1974, Harold Brown recorded the cemetery, listing 19 graves missed in 1930 & also noting some of the stones Miss Hill re-corded were no longer in the cemetery. I used these lists to help record the now illegible or missing stones. Names and/or data taken from these transcripts are noted as [other lists]. Cemetery in poor condition; overgrown, many stones fallen flat, broken or missing. Several of the graves are surrounded by a chain fence & are noted with an astrick (*) after the surname. Headstones are listed alphabetically by surname, than the first name on the stone. Other names on stone are cross indexed to that headstone. Square brackets [ ] indicate, added by compiler. Diagonals /// indicate, illegible. Spaces in epitaphs indicate, end of line as cut on the headstone. Marker-denotes a military or organizational symbol. No name is abbreviated unless that is how it appears on the headstone.
