SEBAGO.

Thirty miles N. W. of Portland. On west side of Sebago Lake. Name of Iridian
origin. First settled by Joseph Lakin and Jacob Howe in 1790. Originally a part
of Baldwin. Incorporated Feb. 10, 1826. Part of Denmark added in 1830. A part of
Baldwin has since been added. A part of Naples set off in 1851. Population-1850,
850; 1860, 958; 1870, 803; 1880, 808. Valuation, 1860-Polls, 227; Estates,
$149,623; 1870-Polls, 221; Estates, $175,550; 1880-Polls, 191; Estates, $183,095.
