To the Selectmen of Bridgton: I herewith present my report as secretary of the board of health for the fiscal year ending February 1, 1932. Members of the Board Edward S. Abbott, M. D., President. Irving E. Mabry, M. D., Health Officer. Frank A. Webb, Secretary. There have been reported to the board of health the following cases: chicken pox, 1; influenza, 2; measles, 18; paratyphoid fever, 2; poliomyelitis, 1; scarlet fever, 8; typhoid fever, 1; whooping cough, 15; pneumonia, 8. The members of the board of health are quite certain that there are a great many cases that have not been reported to the secretary. Complaint was made to the secretary that someone had put into the brook at the valley a lot of dead musk-rats. On going to the brook I found that someone had skinned the muskrats and by count there were thirty-nine of them. We tried our best to find the party who did this but were unable to do so. We have had lots of complaints made to the board because of dumping of waste material in public ways. We have had them cleaned up and covered with sand and the cost has been quite a little. We have made arrangements with Mrs. Crosby on the Willett Road for a public dump and also hired Ellsworth D. Hill to take care of the same each week. Please use this place for your waste materials. Don't make a dump of all the roads that we have in the town, as old tin cans and other rubbish does not look good on the roadsides. All the cases brought to the board have been properly attended to and cleaned up immediately. Respectfully submitted, FRANK A. WEBB, Secretary of Board of Health.
