BONNEY Frank J b 8 Mar 1850 at Buckfield (ME) 10 Dec 1899 of typhoid fever.
His passing was lamented, and his funeral was attened by the City of Auburn
government in a body s/o Albion P & Mary A (Irish) Bonney. He was educated in
the Buckfield public schools, and studied dentistry in Quincy (MA). Studied in
Quincy, admitted to practice, moved to Portsmouth (NH) and then to Portland
(ME). When Dr Strout of Lewiston (ME) retired Frank Bonney moved to Lewiston.
He lived on the old Seward Penely place in Danville (ME), he attened the South
Auburn Baptist Church. He was a leader in the Auburn Repulican Party. He was
a member of the School Committee 1891-1895 & elected to the Common Council of
1899. Frank Bonney married at Auburn (ME) 1 Jul 1871, Nancy C Penley, who was
born in Danville, 13 Nov 1845, the daughter of Seward & Sarah (Stockman)
Penley. She was active in church affairs and a woman of great charm, and
generaous nature. Children: Ella M she was associated with the AUburn school
system, and taught at the Washburn school, 1895-1900.

BOOMER/BOWMER John b 19 Mar 1806, Liverpool, Nova Scotia s/o John &
Elizabeth., As a young man John moved to Danville, ME. By trade he was a
carpenter and cabnet maker. He embraced the doctrines of Joseph Miller, and
frequently preached in the Millerite manner. About 1836, he moved to
Atkinson, Penobscot Co, Maine, from Danville (ME). He later moved to Quincy MA
only to return in the latter part of his life and settled near Penley Corner.

Feb 1849, he worked for many newspapers: Boston Globe, Boston Journal, New
York Herald and the Cleveland Plain Dealer. For many years he was a
compositor and later linotype operator on the Lewiston Evening Journal. In
1886 he wrote THE GOSS FAMILY CHRONICLES based upon a paper he read at a Goss
family reunion. He married (1) ______________ m(2) Addie Doughty of Auburn
(ME). The late Arthur Gray Staples in the Lewiston Evening Journal wrote unpon
John Booomer's death in issue 13 Feb 1922 : " Billy Boomer was a humorist, a
wanderd and a good workman. He dallied with life a bit, too and hence became
carefree and broadly a fatalist. He was disinclined to work too steady, hence
varied his work with what he deemed to be pleasure, harmless enough to
everyone but himself .. Billy Boomer was a write a broad and pictureque fine
humor. He wrote a column for the Lewiston Journal under the name of 'SLUG
TWELVE' this being his compositors slug. It was widely road and

BUCKLEY A W house at Danville ME burned 19 FEb 1833 "called the Old Finson
House" [William Garcelon's Journal AHS]
BUCKLEY Barzilla b 10 Jan 1783 Wethersfield Ct. d 14 Apr 1864. He moved to
Danville ME early in 1824, settled near Woodbury Hill (Auburn, ME) and began
farming operations while still plying his trade as tinsmith at which he was
expert. He was born 10 Jan 1783 in Weathersfield CT, settled in Westbrook ME
when he was a young man. He developed a local business for nine years in
Danville, misfortune overtook him, however on 18 Feb 1833, when his building
and contents were consumed by fire. Andrew R Giddinge wrote in his diary, 19
Feb " A Very sad affair took place yesterday morning in the neighborhood. The
dwelling of Mr Barzilla Buckley took fire and consumed together with a large
quantity of tinware on hand and of the avails of nearly all the sales of the
winter months also all his tools a very valuable collection and stock
unwrought part of the furniture only saved loss estimated at nearly $2000" Two
days later he moved back to WEstbrook (ME). He returned to Danville (ME) late
in 1837, and again opened his business and remaining at Danville until his
