YOUNG " It was on the same (1731)? sunday another division of the same
party looked into Mr Givens house at Middle Bays but seeing no one
but children passed them undisturbed. Mr Given & his wife had gone to
merrionrey? to meeting. In the afternoon they surprised Abigail
(Abijah)? Young , John & Richard Starbird as they were returning from
New Meadows at smiths brook near Mr David Givens. In the fright they
threw away their guns which were loaded & which their pursuers picked
up & fired after them. Abigail Young was wounded & taken a Prisoner.
{young was a prisoner about one year he had been taken with the small
pox at halifax where he died 1756?}"The indians fired ... wounded

Memorial) The two division met the next morning at Pejepscot on the
North side of the River. It maybe interseting in this place to know
that the fate of miss Finney She was carried away in her night clothes
and continued without any other apparel until after they ..... at the
top of the hill in topsham commanly a veiw of Brunswick village & fort
george here the was advanced by her fellow prissoner to match the
first blanket she could lay her hands on. she soon seized one that
belonded to an indian and a sectect soon ... which although hazerdous
was successful as she continued to retain it. She had a ....journey
through the woods to Quebeck. there she was discharge of to a
gentleman farmer who had her hoeing corn in his field. this task she
did not perform cheerfully neither was her master satisfied. she was
taken from the field & placed in the kitchen in this employment she
gave him good satisfaction. her appearance attracted the attention of
a frenchman in neighborhood who was ..... of taking her as his own.
to keep her out of his way her master every day as soon as her work
was done locked her up in a chamber and forbid the frenchman coming
to his house. not many mouths after this Capt McLellen of Falmouth
was at Quebeck with a carted for the purpose of exchanging some
prisoners. He had known of Miss Finney and went their to get her

YOUNG Thomas was a Justice of the Peace [Pejepscot Papers 1755 1:178]
"The Deposition of Terra Maggus , an old Indian of Kennebec River, and
one of the Chief of that tribe: he the Terra Maggus of full age
bestipith? and saith that some time the last spring viz in Apr 1718 he
showed to Mr Thomas Giles of Boston (MA) and Capt John Giles, his
brother, the outward Range and line , towards the woods of the neck of
land lying upon Merrymeeting Bay in Kennebeck River, lately in
possession of their father Mr Thomas Giles deceased and shewed the
bound trees in the line and took God to witness that he was pressent
with his father Darumquin? (that was the owner of the said land) when
he delivered it to the said Mr Thomas Giles and that their were
serveral English and Indians up on the land at the same time and he
well remembered (tho'but a boy) that Mr Watkins and Thomas Stevens,
William Davis cornetions John Paien and several English men more were
present and that of Me Indians there was Momareasamet ? and several
others, who desired him to keep it in memory and to hand it to his
son, and to tell him to hand it to his son, and so from Generation yo
generation and shewed as he went across that neck of land on the right
hand toward Me Bay was delivered to Mr Thomas Giles and the left to
Capt Reynolds and that he desired Thomas Young present to write out the
same. Witnessed by John Young, who took ye above written from ye
