Allen Whereas the Great and General Court of the Common Wealth of Massachusetts of the th day of March instant by their Act Incorported the plantatiom called the Pejepscot claim, and Little's Gore, the County of Cumberland, into a town by the name of Pejepscot - And in said Act Authorised me as a Majestrate to issue warn the inhabitants thereof for the first meeting --- Cumberland SS To Lemuel Dyer of Pejepscot in the County of Cumberland, Yoman - Greeting - You are hereby required in the name of Common Wealth of Massachusetts - To Notify & warn the Inhabittants of said town of Pejepscot qualified by law to vote in town affairs to Assemble & meetin together at the school house near Andrew Giddinge's in said town on Monday the 12th day of April next at 9 o'clock in the forenoon. 1st To choose a moderator for said Meeting 2nd To choose a clerk, Selectmen, Treasure, and all such other officers as oter towns within this Common Wealth are by law required to choose in the months of Mar or Apr Annually Given under my hand and seal at New Gloucester this twenty fifth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousdand eight hundred and two Nathaniel C. The following are only the recorded voted of the town: 15 May 1802, Pejepscot 1802 1st voted that five hundred dollars be raised to work on Road and wages as follows; Viz mans labour $1 per day, oxen 67 cents per day, cart 34 cents/day, plows 50 cents/day &c 2nd Voted that $200 be raised for the support of schools the present year &c 3rd Voted to build a pound for the use of the town the second week in June next, begin on Monday the said week and set it near Mr. True Woodbury's and build it with Square timber &c 4th Voted that Nothing be acted on in the 5th Article that is (Roads?) 5th Voted to Raise $150 for nessary charges of the town (the Poor) 6th Voted that this town shall not send a Representative this year 7th Voted that the swine in the town shall run at Large &c 8th Voted that twenty five ponds of power shall be purchased for the present year &c Votes of 26 Aug 1802 Town meeting Road from True Woodbury's to Poland (excepted) Road from Gloucester to True Woodbury (Excepted) Road from True Woodbury's to Benning Wentworth's crossing the 5th Range (Excepted) Road from True Woodbury's to Dingle's (not excepted) Road from Gloucester by Cleaves to Moses Hanscom's and thence as the much of the Road is rejected to go to Dingley's (this road is excepted) Road from Joseph Eveleth to Thomas Murray's (excepted) Road from Samuel Royals to Stephen McKenny's (Excepted) Road from Isaac McKenney's land towards Durham (Excepted) Voted that the pound be built by the man that will build it cheapest. Mr. Thomas Finson Jr agrees to build the pound for 47 dollars & 75 cents Voted not to dig down the hill in the county road Near Royal's river the present year. Description of the Town Pound Near Mr True Woodbury house forty feet square, seven feet high, timber for cells and top with twelve posts eight inches square with horizontal girts of sawed hemlock or norway pine, or oak, with 16 braces -leaving no space more than four inches - The gits to be four inches thick and as wide and lowest part of the cell to be 6 inches from the ground. Mr Thomas Finson agrees to build it for 47 dollars and 95 cents.
