He was mentioned in John Cushing's Diary as killed by the falling of a tree 29 Nov 1795, The accident occurred in Lewiston on the site of the Continental Mill, and he was buried near by. He was a Revolutionary soldier. His widow married William Thompson, another Revolutionary soldier from Falmouth and was living in Wayne in 1833. [p 239 Hist of Durham & p299 Hist of Lewiston Joseph Proctor who was a single man living in Lewiston Plt in 1790 was likely the brother to SAmuel & Thomas. PROCTOR Thomas settled on the Pejepscot Claim (ME) shortly after his marriage in 1793. He was of the fifth generation from John & Martha ( ) Proctor who came from London, England, to Ipswich (MA) in the ship "SUSAN AND ELLEN" in 1635. THey later settled in Salem (MA) where their son John Jr. born in England married Elizabeth Bassett. Both John Jr and Elizabeth were condemned for witchcraft in 1692, and John was execulted 19 Aug that year, Elizabeth, however, was released. They had a son Samuel Proctor, born in Danvers in 1680, who came to Falmouth (ME), In 1717-19 and married here, Sarah Brackett. Samuel d 16 Mar 1765 at Falmouth.
