BROOKLIN.

Twenty-six miles S. S. W. of Ellsworth. Terminus of stage-line from Bucksport,
thirty-two miles. Settled about 1763. Formerly a part of Sedgwick. Incorporated
June 9, 1819, under name of Port Watson; name changed next month.
Population-1850, 1002; 1860, 1043; 1870, 966; 1880, 977. Valuation, 1860-Polls,
235; Estates, $136,436. 1870-Polls, 252; Estates, $186,899; 1880-Polls, 273;
Estates, $142,359.
