Book Title: The Maine Historical Magazine, Vol. 8, 1894

John Billings, from Boston, settled on the lot next to Major Eaton.  His son 
Timothy said to have been the first white child born on the Island, May, 1764.  
He removed to Brooksville  or Sedgwick.  Descendants numerous.
(The first settlements were along Eggemoggin Reach.)
