Charles H. Hamlen Charles H. Hamlen, a merchant at Augusta, engaged in the dry goods for many years at the Corner of Water and Bridge streets, as a member of the firm of Nason & Hamlen. He married Caroline Chase of Portland, in May 1839. She died 3 Oct 1848. He married his 2nd wife, Sarah Palmer of Berwick, Maine in 1841.
