BEAL, Sadie SUBMITTER: Tina S. Vickery EMAIL: USGWKenn@aol.com DATE: Dec 01, 1998 SURNAMES: BEAL Clinton Advertiser: Thursday, October 18, 1888. Clinton Advertiser. A semi-monthly at Clinton, Maine by B. T. Foster & H. E. Pratt Miss Sadie Beal died at the residence of her mother, in this village on Saturday last, October 13th, aged 18 years. Her illness was consumption and she has been in failing health for many months. She is remembered as a pleasant youth of a kind heart and friendly spirit. She loved life, and, in her earlier sickness, had a strong desire to live; but God has ordered it otherwise. "His ways are not as our ways."; As she saw her approaching nearness to the future world, she sought the grace of submission to the divine will. Jesus heard her prayer and gave hope in his infinite love. One week previous to her death, she received the ordinance of Christian Baptism at the hand of her pastor, Rev. Mr. Brown, in her sick room. Hereby she was joined in convenant with God and peace and rest came into her youthful heart. She distributed the tokens of remembrance to family and calmly awaited the closing hour of life. It came in quiet to her couch and peacefully she passed from earth away to be at rest beyond. The funeral services, held on Tuesday of this week, were conducted by her pastor and largely attended. The singing by the Methodist choir was excellent and a remarkable tenderness prevaded the hour. Tears flowed from many eyes. Especially was it considered as a call to the youth to devote their hearts to the service of God in life's morning. The afflicted family share the heartfelt sympathy of all. ----------------------------------------------------- USGENWEB ARCHIVES NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free genealogical information on the Internet, data may be freely used for personal research and by non-commercial entities as long as this message remains on all copied material.
