Joseph Foye died age 48 years in 1900 at Augusta, Maine Daily Kennebec Journal Augusta, Maine January 8, 1900 Death of Joseph Foye. Joseph Foye died at 12:30 o'clock Saturday noon, after a short illness with a complication of diseases. He was 48 years of age and had made Augusta his home of 30 years, being engaged at the trade of stone cutting and driving an accommodation team. He was also at one time the proprietor of the Farmer's hotel and had conducted various restaurants. He is survived by a wife and one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Richardson of Gardiner. Friends of Mr. Foye will long remember him as being of a genial disposition and possessing a heart of generous proportions. The funeral will occur at the residence of B. F. Gaslin, 52 Bangor Street, at 2 o'clock, this afternoon. Daily Kennebec Journal Augusta, Maine January 9, 1900 The funeral of the late Joseph Foye was held at the home of B. F. Gaslin, 52 Bangor street, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. C. A. Hayden officiated while music was rendered by a quartet composed of J. W. Beck, J. W. Dyer, Mrs. H. T. Bond and Miss Georgia Clark. The bearers were Daniel S. McDavid, George Herring, Daniel Day and John F. Morris. The floral offerings were profuse and beautiful. Interment was made in Mount Pleasant cemetery.
