Kennebec Journal, July 16, 1825: Marriage and Death Notices. MARRIED, In Vassalborough, on Thursday last, by J. R. Abbot Esq. Mr. Samuel Homans to Miss Caroline Blackinton of Thomaston. DIED, In Albion, on the 7th inst. the Rev. William Goodhue, aged 46, a native of Ipswich, Mass. In his death his family have to morn the loss of a kind husband and parent, Christianity a sincere and zealous advocate, and a large cir- cle of acquaintance, of a much respected fellow citizen. In Gardiner, Mr. Seth Fish. His death was occasioned by wounds received from the acci- dental discharge of a nine pounder on the 4th of July. In New York, Charles G. Haine, Adjutant General of that state, a highly distinguished lawyer, and much respected citizen. In Beaufort, N. C. Rev. Mason L. Weems, of Dumfries, Va. well known as the author of the life of Washington, Life of Marion, and other popular works, a man of considerable ta- lents, rather eccentric, but of unbounded phi- lanthropy.
