The Winslow Register- P.O., R.F.D. 39, Waterville. Compiled By Mitchell & Davis 1904 Kents Hill: Published by the H.E. Mitchell Publishing Co. 1904 pg. 72-78 CENSUS OF WINSLOW 1904. The population of the town of Winslow has been arranged herewith in families where that arrangement has been possible. In these families in addition to the names of the resident living members, the names of the non-resident members are included. It should be borne in mind that this plan does not include the names of all non-residents of Winslow as the names appear only when one or both parents are still living in town. At the end of the Census will be found the present address of those non-residents when such addresses have been given to the author. The non-residents are indicated by the star (*). Opposite the names of the population will be found the occupation. In order that we might give something of value in ascertaining facts concerning attendance upon schools, we have given all those who attend a common school or any grade below that of High school the occupation of Pupil. Opposite the names of those who are attending High school or other institution of higher learning we have placed the abbreviation "Stu". We give in the following list some of the more common abbreviations we have used: Far.--Farmer. Car.--Carpenter. R.R. Ser.--Conductors, Station Agents, Section Hands, etc. Ho.--Housework. Lab.--Laborer. Phy.--Physician. Clerg.--Clergyman. Law.--Lawyer. Mer.--Merchant. Mech.-- Mechanic. Eng.--Engineer. Ins.--Insurance. Tr.--Teacher. Blk.-- Blacksmith. Cl.--Clerk. Sur.--Surgeon. Bk-kpr.--Book-keeper. M'kr.--Maker. W'kr.--Worker. Wk.--Work. This census was taken expressly for this work during the spring of 1904 by Rev. B.V. Davis, Kent's Hill, Me. P.O., R.F.D. 39, Waterville.
