ALNA.

Eight miles No. of Wiscasset. Terminus of stage-line from Gardiner. Formerly the
north precinct of Pownalborough. Incorporated the 92d town, June 25. 1794, as
New Milford, which it was called, until 1811, when its name was changed to Alna.
First church formed, 1796,-Jonathan Scott, pastor. Population-1850, 916; 1860,
807; 1870, 747; 1880, 687.

$233,610; 1880-Polls, 195; Estates, $206,339.
