NOBLEBOROUGH.

Twelve miles N. E. of Wiscasset. On Knox & Lincoln Railroad. Included in the
Pemaquid Patent, and followed the fortunes of the other portions of that
territory (see Bristol). Incorporated Nov. 20, 1788, and named by Arthur Noble,
one of the heirs of the proprietor. Previously known as Walpole.

1880, 1142. Valuation, 1860-Polls, 204; Estates, $261,745; 1870-Polls, 282;
