Grand Trunk Railroad. Settled, 1826. Incorporated Feb. 3, 1843, from parts of
Fryeburg Academy and Bachelder's, and all of Davis' grant. Population-1850, 93;
1860, 136; 1870, 127; 1880, 94. Valuation, 1860-Polls, 33; Estates, 21,847;
1870-Polls, 34; Estates, $30,004; 1880-Polls, 26; Estates, $27,446.
