Crockett in San Antonio, Texas, last November. He was well known to many of our readers and respected by them as an upright and honerable (sic) young man. Among us he made many warm and faithful friends who will hear of his death with profound sadness. We give below an extract from the Obituary made by the Oxford County Advertiser of Norway and South Paris, Me. "Mr. Crockett was a young man of very active mind, of ready scholarship and ability as a writer, and of a cheerful temperment (sic); a general favorite both in his native place and at school, where he was familiarly spoken of as "Oscar" by the entire school of two hundred scholars. His naturil (sic) vivacity and quickness of perception gave promise of much future usefulness, if his life had been spared. He was a young man of thoroughly moral character, and though never having made any outward profession of religion, yet a schoolmate speaks of receiving letters from him breathing a tender throughtfulness (sic) on the subject.
