They were published under the authority of MHS, but are not from documents in our collections. The original records may be from the State Archives, but then you do not need permission to publish from their collections. Because you are not charging and do plan to give complete citation we support your effort to make these records available on the Internet. We request that you give complete citation to title, editor, publisher & owership of the original records. We also would like you to note that since you are not working from the original records that there may be discrepancies between this information and the original records (mistakes happen!). Again, while we do not claim ownership of the original records (facts) we do have copyright over the organization and arrangment of this volume. Thank you for asking our permission and for honoring our requests. Best of luck with your research. Stephanie Philbrick Coordinator of Photograph Services Maine Historical Society
