He was born Feb. 18, 1945, in Danforth, the son of Floyd Walter Jarvis and Madeline Elizabeth (Amero) Jarvis. He was a graduate of Old Town High School. Rusty served in the U.S. Army from September 1965 to July 1967 during the Vietnam War. His military occupation was a 52F20 Electrician. He received the National Defense Service Medal, VSM for Rifle M-14 and the VCM w/1960 device. He was honorably discharged July 5, 1967. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Bangor, Maine Stake. He served in many capacities from Primary teacher to High Counselor. Rusty was Lincoln's Branch President for several years, and at the time of his death was a Temple Ordinance worker. He retired after 30 years employment with Diamond International of Old Town as an industrial paper electrician. Rusty enjoyed restoring old cars with his friends, Douglas Kill and Ronnie Raymond. He was an avid fisherman who went on many high adventures with Charlie Reitze. Surviving are his mother, Madeline Jarvis; sister, Shelley and husband, Kirk Davis, all of Kennebunkport; brother, Gary Jarvis and wife, Diane; five nieces Vicki Churchill, Bobbi Jean Emery, Leeann Bowden, Lucy Gagne, Michelle Cameron; and one nephew, Andy Jarvis; his wife, Cindy of 37 years; children, son, Dominick Jarvis and wife, April, and their children, Cassandra, Sabastian and Alexander of Virginia; daughter, Susan Jiron of Colorado; son, Banyon Jarvis of Virginia; daughter, Megan Leach and husband, David Leach and their children, Jacob and Leia of Steuben; daughter, Cynthia Jo Jarvis and her son, Gabriel of Greenbush; son, R. Todd Jarvis and wife, Sarah of Milford. He was predeceased by his father, Floyd Walter Jarvis; brother, Dennis Jarvis; and infant sister, Jessie Jarvis. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, Old Town Chapel, 205 Main St., Old Town. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Grandview Avenue, Bangor, with Bishop Douglas McCumber, officiating. Interment will be in Town Line Hill Cemetery, Enfield. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Lincoln Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 144 Penobscot Valley Road, Lincoln, (Transalpine extension, Lincoln.)
