Col. Silas Paul's account book for the Congregational Parish of Foxcroft, Maine 1851 Sprague's Journal of Maine History No. I Vol. VII MAY JUNE JULY 1919 pages 54 A recent issue of the Piscataquis Observer contains the following: Mrs. W. A. Hillman has an account book which her father, the late Col. Silas Paul, kept wile collector of the Congregational Parish of Foxcroft and Dover when its meeting house was built. The stock for "a site and for building a house" was divided into shares of $25 each and the first payment, one quarter was made May 1st, 1851, or 68 years ago.
