Wesserunsett Lodge No. 113 was instituted Jan. 19, 1886. The first meetings were held in Wad and Ware Hall, which was located in the place where the present I. O. O. F. Hall now stands. The first hall was burned in the fall of 1888. The present building was put up soon after by the Athens Hall As- sociation the shareholders of which were all Odd Fellows and within the last year, the lodge has brought up all the stock so that it now owns the building as an order. The Past Grands of the lodge are as follows: Charles Emery (1886), James W. Bixby, Llewellyn Stinchfield, Joseph S. Tuttle, J. F. Holman, L. C. Williams, F. G. Greene, J. E. Corson, William H. Tib- betts, Fred P. Collins, Geo. F. Ayer, Geo. C. Hight, A. E. Bos- worth, N. N. Cook, A. W. Eaton, William Roberts, L. C. El- liott, H. N. Flanders, H. S. Elliot, E. C. Trafton, E. H. Tib- betts, Lee W. Foss (present Noble Grand.) The lodge at present is in a very prosperous condition. Its home is a three story building, the first floor of which is oc- cupied by Sanders and Flanders, on the second floor is a pleasure hall with a capacity of 250 people. The lodge room is on the third floor, as is also a dining room with a seating capacity of 72. The membership at present is about 90. Athens Grange No. 257, was organized in 1883. The first home of the order was Wesserunsett Hall, the old hall which was burned about 1889. There were 18 charter members: R. H. Boothy and wife, Eben York and wife, C. B. Wade and wife, C. P. Knight and wife, F. P. Barker and wife, Mrs Olive McIntire, Mrs. M. G. Dunton, Mrs. Anna Tuttle. The present membership is about two hundred. The first master was F. W. Barker. Other masters have been: Bros. Dore, Boothby, C. H. Jones, B. L. Flanders, Frank Page, J. F. Cor- son, F. P. Collins, Mrs Ellen Jones, the present master. After the burning of the old hall the grange met in McIntire hall across the street until the new Odd Fellows Hall was built. Since that time they have met in the lower hall in this building until the present home of the grange was finished in 1907. The new hall has a seating capacity of over 200 people with a dining room below capable of seating 100 people and was dedicated in Nov. 1907.
